I thought it’d be a lot of fun to have a contest for naming Chad and Willow’s twins! So… here’s how it’ll work. List your names… boy, girl, whatever… I’m not telling what they’re having but you’ll have hints coming too.
As the ultimate prize… I’m purchasing…

From DCB Collectibles for the winner! The figurines will be shipped directly from the seller so you’ll have to be willing for me to give them your address in order to win.
Rules-
Only five names per day per person. Anyone who is old enough to type the name (either copying from your list or spelling it on their own) is elligible to win.
The contest will not end until the babies are born and their names are announced. So, you have lots of time! I reserve the right to change names I have planned on at this time for names suggested if someone suggests something I like better.
On their trip through California, Willow and Chad hear the legendary Big Gerry! (Click on the link to hear a sample of the music!) Now look at the sweet dude…

He comes every Christmas to Santa’s Art Shop in Ridgecrest California and I love him! His Sierra Christmas CD is out of this world! I LOVE it. It’s one of my favorite Christmas CD.
The Prize?

I’m going to do a random number generator on Valentine’s Day! You can post all the entries you like! Post all day if it floats your boat. but… you have to post them over at Fairbury Tales.
Go HERE and enjoy!
Oh my word… I read all the entries, loved every one, I was torn for ages, but then… today… I read the latest.
Michele- your story of milking that cow. I can so see Kari doing that! I can see her ready to kill the goat. I can just see it. And of course, then to get disgusted using her hard work and pain to make soap…
I have to choose that one. I can see it in my mind.
Congratulations and I’ll order those for you next week!c
Willow’s childhood was filled with beauty, innocence, and delight. She spent her days learning, working, and living an almost idyllic life. Whether making ice cream for her birthday, growing flowers, or building an imaginary world for her fairies, she lost herself in her own little world.
Willow isn’t like most little girls. She’s never played with another child; she’s never known a father, never gone to school.
In a new series of stories about Willow and her childhood, you’ll meet her and maybe even become her friend. The first story begins when Willow turns five.
The contest: Name the story.
The Prize: A paper craft-a-month for six months! (Please note: While the picture shown has a “Halloween theme” the company assures us that the kit can be used for any kind of treat bag and of course, the first one wouldn’t be for October anyway.)

Deadline: October 31, 2008
Rules:
- Limit: 5 entries per child
- Ages 4-16 only please
- Parents, while you may help, please only submit entries that originated with your child.
Disclaimer: Should something happen and the company no longer offer this service midway into your six months, I may if I can, substitute something in exchange for your remaining months but if I cannot, I am not responsible for the shortened prize length.
For the record, there will probably be a series of 12 books. One a year from age 5-17 years. Each book will have either 12 chapters (one per month) or 12 sections (one per month of course) with multiple chapters. I’m going to try to increase the length with each ag etc…
Just in case you want to find something tht can be spun into a series of books.
And you have to go HERE to convince them to move in with you!

Have to do with Willow, Chad, or Walden Farm?
Ok, so I had kind of a problem. You see, two people came up with what, combined, would be a great scene and fits with where I was already going with things. Because I am not at that point in the story, and because my characters write their stories themselves, I can’t decide which one is closer to how I’ll write it, so I’m declaring TWO winners. Each winner will receive The Guardian (unless they already own it and then I’ll send the other one I almost chose.

Ok, the winning entries are…
Faith’s
This is a scenario for quite some time from now… Chad has had to go
out of town for some reason for about two weeks–special police
training maybe ?? This time away has made them both realize how much
they love and miss each other. Chad gets back from his trip and
immediately comes out to see Willow. It is pouring down rain, but
Willow has been watching and waiting for him all day, knowing that he
was to arrive sometime. She sees his truck turn in and runs to meet
him part way. He is worried something is wrong of course. This is
the discourse that follows. Willow! What’s wrong? Nothing, I just
came to meet you… In the pouring rain??? Oh, Chad I have missed
you! He hugs her picking her up off of her feet and says I missed you
too! Let’s get inside and warm up. They go inside she goes to change
clothes. He starts some water for tea. When she comes back he thinks
she is lovely and decides to tell her what he has been thinking about
while gone. “Willow, I love you, will you marry me?” She is
surprised but says “Chad, you are my best and dearest friend but… I
am scared. I am afraid that I would not make a good wife–it is all
so unfamiliar and frightening…My mother prepared me for almost
everything in live but she did not prepare me for marriage….”
And
Michele’s
Okay, I know this is morbid….but I can see it.
Chad did such a good job taking care of Willow when she was hurt. Chad
gets hurt…shot actually is what I’m seeing…on the job. Willow goes
into a frantic craze worrying about him and realizes just how important
he is to her..He’s asleep in the hospital after surgery. He’s fine, but she doesn’t
know that yet and she’s crying and praying over him that God won’t take
him away from her and she says “I love you” to Chad and then realizes
the magnitude of what she said. Not even in a romantic sense….but
just WOW…love….Okay, there’s my entry.
A few honorable mentions are…
Cari- who almost made it a triple tie with her scenario but since little Cari is 3… I doubt she could have that conversation.
Amy- Teaching the guys to knit. We’ll do that. And we can have sesame chicken to celebrate.
Heidi- The lost Willow was adorable but considering that was during Willow’s “bratty” phase, I had a hard time seeing the moment so tender.
Barbara- Oh my… your conversation with Alexa is one I’ve planned with Libby!!! Your reply is much better than mine- more beautiful and would speak to Willow better than my blunt answer.
Challice…. Ok, so everyone had good entries and if I mention any more, I’m going to feel guilty for not giving away 20 of these things!
Congratulations ladies and email me your addresses so I can get these ordered tomorrow.
